Ekaterina Maximova was born in Moscow in 1939. She graduated from the Bolshoi Theatre School in class of Elizaveta Gerdt.
Joined the Bolshoi Ballet in 1958. Formed a great partnership with Vladimir Vasiliev, who is also her husband.
She was coached by Galina Ulanova and is now herself coaching, among others, Svetlana Lunkina.
Ekaterina Maximova died in Moscow on April 28, 2009.
Repertoire includes: Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Don Quixote, Spartacus, Paganini,
Nutcracker, Stone Flower.
Awards:
People's Artist of the USSR.
Gold medal at the Varna Competition 1964.
