Caroline Cavallo was born in USA in 1969. She trained at the Atlanta School of Ballet and the School of American Ballet. She was first engaged by the Atlanta Ballet, until in 1989 she was engaged by the Royal Danish Ballet, where she was appointed soloist in 1992 and principal dancer in 1997.

She has danced a number of leading roles with the Royal Danish Ballet, including Tatiana in Onegin, Palmyra in Abdallah, The Flower Fairy and the Princess in The Nutcracker, the title roles in Romeo and Juliet, La Sylphide, Giselle and The Merry Widow, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Kitri in Don Quixote, Teresina in Napoli, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Hilda in A Folk Tale and Psyke in Cupid and Psyche, and further soloist roles in Stepping Stones, Corsaire Pas de Trois, Ballads Enclosed, Grass, Zakovski, The Wish, Return to a Strange Land, Symphony in C, Serenade and Etudes.

She has been awarded the Spies Foundation Grant, the Albert Gaubier Grant and the Royal Danish Ballet's Grant of Honour in 2002.
