Notable: Born 1975; Royal Ballet

Zenaida Yanowsky was born in 1975 in France. She trained in Spain with Anatol Yanowsky and Carmen Robles. After winning Silver Medal at Varna in 1991, she joined Paris Opera Ballet. She won Gold Medal at both the European Young Dancers Competition (1993) and Jackson International Ballet Competition (1994). She joined The Royal Ballet in 1994 and was promoted to Principal in 2001.

Her repertory includes Odette/Odile, Sugar Plum Fairy, Myrtha, Raymonda Act III, Agon, The Bride (Les Noces), lead Nymph (L’Aprčs-midi d’un faune), Lilac Fairy, Carabosse, Gamzatti, Empress Elizabeth, The Siren (Prodigal Son), Symphony in C, Serenade, Monotones II, Concerto, Sinfonietta and The Four Temperaments. She has created and performed many roles by such international choreographers as Tharp, Forsythe, Ek, Duato, Tetley, Tuckett, Page, Davies, Wheeldon, Yanowsky, Baldwin, Marston, Kylián and Brandstrup.She has featured in two dance films, Duet and The Sandman, for Channel 4.
