Nicole Rhodes Biography

Nicole Rhodes studied with the Australian Ballet School. She joined The Australian Ballet in 1991. As a soloist, she was chosen by William Forsythe to perform a principal role in The Australian Ballet’s premiere season of In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated in 1995, for which she received a Green Room Award. After dancing many more classical and contemporary lead roles, including Manon and Romeo and Juliet, in 1998 Natalia Makarova chose Nicole to dance the principal role of Nikiya in The Australian Ballet’s premiere of La Bayadere. Following her debut as Kitri in Don Quixote in 1999, she was promoted to Principal Artist. In 2004 she joined the Royal Swedish Ballet.
