Lucia Lacarra was born in 1975 near San Sebastian, Spain. She studied with Victor Ullate in Madrid. She joined Roland Petit's National Ballet of Marseille in 1994 as a principal dancer. Three years later she moved to San Francisco Ballet. Since 2002 she is a principal with Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich.

Repertoire includes:
In Marseille; Notre Dame de Paris and Le Jeune homme et la Mort.
In San Francisco; Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Gsovskys Grand Pas Classique, and The Cage, In the Night and Dancing at a Gathering by Jerome Robbins, and also six Balanchine ballets including Serenade and Diamonds.
In Munich; Raymonda, Swan Lake and Onegin.

Awards:
The Nijinsky Award 2002.
