Maya Dumchenko was born in St.Petersburg 1976. She graduated from Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of Prof. Nina Sakhnovskaya). Joined Mariinsky Theatre in 1995. Became Soloist in 1996.

Repertoire includes:
La Sylphide (La Sylphide), Giselle (Giselle), The Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora, Princess Florine), The Nutcracker (Masha), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Don Quixote (Lady Dryad, variation in IV act, Kitri), Raymonda (Henrietta, Clemance), Swan Lake (Pas de Trois), La Bayadere (Pas de Trois from the scene The Kingdom of Shades), The Fountain of Bakhchisaray (Maria), "Paquita" Grand Pas (variation), Pas de Quatre (Lucile Grahn), The Legend of Love (Shyrin), Pas de Six "La Vivandiere", Chopiniana (Prelude, Mazurka, Valse in G flat major, Valse in C Sharp minor), Petrushka (the Ballerina), In the Night (2nd movement), Symphony in C (IVth movement), Serenade, Jewels (Emeralds, Rubies), Poeme de L'Extase.

Awards:
First prizewinner (Vaganova-Prix) at the Third International Ballet Competition (St.Peterburg, 1995)
